Workforce Training

Southeastern Technical College, a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia, provides an innovative educational environment for student learning through traditional and distance education delivery methods focused on building a well-educated, globally competitive workforce for Johnson County.

Training is provided to local companies in order to update the work skills of employees. Retraining to accommodate new technology or world-class manufacturing methods introduced into the workplace is also available.

Many professions and employers require certification training and testing. Southeastern Tech’s Economic Development division can provide timely training and certification testing to keep professional work credentials current.

Southeastern Tech offers its entrepreneurial students and small business owners within the community assistance with small business start-up and expansion. Southeastern Tech also provides resources for retraining tax credits.

Continuing Education courses are developed in response to special educational demands and requests of citizens, professional and business groups, and other organizations. The major role of continuing education is to develop and implement courses for career and professional development and personal interest and enrichment. 

Georgia’s nationally recognized Quick Start program, which has developed specialized training tailored specifically to business needs for 55 years, provides companies with the trained workforce needed to support new locations or expansions. 

Quick Start offers quality training as an incentive to new businesses in Johnson County. Existing industries undergoing major expansion may also qualify. It offers customized technical training, instructor training, instructional and media development, training materials and equipment, and facilities for training. 


Quick Start's services are free to any qualified company, whether new to Johnson County, Georgia, expanding a workforce here, or adding new technology to stay competitive. Just as your solutions are unique, so is the approach to helping you. Quick Start helps assess workers, train new employees on your unique processes, and develop customized job-specific training using the most current techniques and media.
